Changing before our eyes

It might seem impossible, at least it does to me, but Beau literally changes by the hour.  When I left him in the morning yesterday I returned to a different kid.  His head was rounder and features more mature, his personality was more engaging and his eyes more alert than ever.  We think he's going through a growth spurt, and I must say its fascinating...

Alex's Christening Party

Beau hung out with Alex for the second time this past weekend, but their first meeting was, ahem, cut short.  Anyway, this time they got to know each other and went from tenuous approach to downright cuddling!  The slapstick moment shown above was likely related to Beau's impression of Alex's get up.  But it was quickly forgotten and we think they'll be good friends for along time to come.

Dreaming of...

We can only imagine what B is thinking when he mimes these incredible personalities.  Its all in his sleep, or during awakening, emerging and fading into reality.  I like to think its the evolutionary history of personality, manifested in micro-expressions as the physical, electrical and chemical pathways form in his brain.  Like, in this last one, he clearly becomes a wise Buddhist monk from the 12th century.

Backwoods Beau

Had the pleasure of taking Beau out for his first official hike.  He took in the sights, between naps, and really appreciated the serenity and beauty.  We sat by the lake, did a sweet rock scramble and even fought off a huge snake (relative to Beau).  At one point he seemed extremely tuned in to a bird tweeting close by...but a hearty burp revealed it was more of an introspective gaze.

Aunt Becky comes to visit!

Beau had a ball with his Aunt Becky!  He didn't seem to make any distinction between his comfy mom and his aunt.  Resting, smiling, eating, crying...he didn't miss a beat in her arms!
